Montevago is a small inland town in the province area of Agrigento, in the middle of the Belice Valley which was affected by a terrible earthquake in 1968 and which razed down to the ground several different villages of the area and caused the death of hundreds of people.
There live 3400 people
It was founded in 1636 by Don Rutilio Xirotta .
Olives and olive oil are the main local products.
Unemployment has compelled many inhabitants to emigrate.
A wine and local products fair takes place in October every year together with an art and craft exhibition
